Wowzers

Gig just shared this video with me, and I simply must pass it along. It is absurd how amazing her voice is. She is my idol.

Time goes on, life flies by

Seeing as this is a "catch up" blog, there is about to be an accumulation of random happenings from the past weeks thrown your way. Brace yourself.

1. A couple weeks ago, lots of us girls went down to West Palm to celebrate Maggie's Bachelorette weekend!! It was so fun to hang out with everyone and to experience Magg's new home! And man is it pretty down there! Had a blast and can't wait to celebrate the big day for Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt!!!
Did I mention this was our ride? Thank you Mr. Vickers!!!

2. Two weeks ago was deemed "MBA Week" and we had a different activity to do with the program each day. From bowling, volunteering at the food bank, book discussion, to paintball with your professors, all-in-all it was a great week. Busy/hectic, but a lot of fun. (Note to future MBA's: always choose Dr. Sox for your team). At the end of the week, we topped everything off by having a tailgate for the Aday game. I was proud that I brought my camera and managed to document the day pretty well.

3. This past friday Mom and I went and picked up my wedding dress :) Isn't that early, you ask? Why yes, I do have my dress over a year in advance. But I'm a planner. Sue me. Obviously no pics of that one...

4. On the same mushy wedding note, Saturday marked a minor milestone for us. We are now under 400 days to this big May 26, 2012! That is just going to seem like next week, right?

5. Saturday was also gorgeous outside and Trent and I took advantage of it by going to Oak Mountain. Now, I know I would seem the type to not really enjoy the outdoors because of my whole "I hate bugs" issue, but surprisingly, I can hang in there pretty well. Managed to drag along the camera again, so enjoy the scenery.

Along with these pics, I just found some gems that are pretty hysterical. They are two videos that I took, one unknowingly and one knowingly. In both, I sound absurd. I feel it is a requirement that I share these simply due to the hilariousness of my accent in them. Don't judge.

6. Today is Easter! Christ is Risen! Glorify Him! Happy Easter everyone!

7. Two weeks of class left before I am half way done with my MBA. Crazy how fast this year has gone.

This past Friday, I had the incredible joy of attending the Avett Brothers concert in the new Tuscaloosa Amphitheater. First, the Avett Brothes were absolutely amazing and I am so so glad that I got to experience them live. Wonderful, wonderful show. Secondly, the new amphitheater was so nice. Good job Tuscaloosa on stepping it up.

Loving life at the concert

Over the past year or so, I have come to have an immense appreciation for true musical artists. And by this, I mean anyone who has a naturally gifted voice or the ability to play a real instrument. It seems that with the new generation of technology, virtually anyone or anything can be made into some sort of melody or "song." For many years, I just went along with the trend since my music knowledge was far below average. However, thanks to my dear friends, my musical library is increasing in depth which leads me now to expect more from artists. It is ironic that if an artist belts out a note or merely carries a tune, it is slightly surprising.

Trent and I tried to take some videos at the concert to send to Chuck down in Peru. They aren't the best quality in the world (especially from my poor little blackberry), but you can still see/hear how great Avett was. Enjoy!
