Economics

So it has been about a week and a half since my last post. Sorry about that. Last week was crazy town in MBA World, and this week has been rather uneventful.

This is what I did during Econ class tonight. Thank you StumbleUpon. Enjoy.

I know you are proud of my productivity. I was too. And your welcome.

Hopefully my next thought will consist of a few more words. Until then, a phone sheep and a hand eagle will just have to do.

Till next time.

Tidbits

Theory confirmed. I absolutely despise wire hangers.

It saddens my childhood/adulthood heart that they are "gradually discontinuing" Cap'n Crunch cereal. Of course it has 12g of sugar in each serving! I need to start stocking up now.

At times, Excel is astonishing. At others, it is infuriating. (Cough, spreadsheet modeling, Cough)

Which is worse: Physical exhaustion or Mental exhaustion?

Although it would be nice, Windex will not clean everything.

The basic frozen Tombstone pizza still reigns supreme.

"Squirt" is officially added to the "Words I don't like" list.

Loving the tunes

It is days like today that remind me how epically amazing Pandora is (yes, I just ended a sentence with a preposition...watch out). Tuned to the John Mayer station, I got to bask in the wonders of Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Adele, Dave Matthews, JM of course, and was delightedly surprised to hear one of my new favorites The Civil Wars. Pandora helps me battle against my lack-of-music-knowledge disease and doesn't cost me a penny. So lovely.

Speaking of all this fine music just made me remember that I get to see The Avett Brothers in concert in just two short weeks!! Woooo. I'm pretty stoked. It is an effort of mine to increase my number of concert attendances since currently the number is at 2, consisting of John Mayer and Shania Twain (don't judge on the latter; you know "Man, I feel like a woman" was a hit).

Breathing Room

It is immensely comical to me that my first "real" post is going to revolve around this person. Slightly, actually incredibly, embarrassing to my intellectual esteem. I feel like a 14-year-old girl. However, this topic managed to reoccur in my thought processes throughout the day, and if staying true to the original nature of this blog, I need to post.

I came across an old video while on Twitter today, and it featured none other than the teen heartthrob, Robert Pattinson. Now, while I will be the first to admit that I have always been a fan (love me some Edward Cullen), my liking is like a single grain of sand in an ocean compared to some girls. It is bewildering to me how obsessed some people can become. And with this infatuation comes a sense of desperation to do absolutely anything to fill that void.

Take a look at this video I saw and you will see what I mean.

He literally cannot walk down a street corner without people attacking him? Three bodyguards aren't enough to prevent girls from throwing themselves at him? I understand that fame comes with a price, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I mean, how would you like it if you got ambushed every time you step in public? No morning coffee runs, no quick bites to eat, no jogs around the neighborhood (that's what normal people do, right? I personally rarely drink coffee and hate jogging, but I am just trying to make a point here. Go with it.). However, I have a feeling that until the Twilight movie franchise is completed in November 2012, his fame level won't decrease. Good luck, Rob. I would say "I understand what you are going through," but no one really cares if I buy fat-free milk rather than the traditional 2%. Except Mom, she would be proud.

Possible Recommendation for Rob to have some normalcy: get a complete body suit made like Robin Williams did in Mrs. Doubtfire. Ehh, then again, running around as an old woman really wouldn't be normal for him. Oh well, I tried.

Stuffed Mushrooms or Shrimp Cocktail?

I thought I would start with an appetizer. You know, like a pre-course to the main dish, aka my thrilling blog entries.

Here are some background tidbits that might give some insight on what future posts could pertain to:

  • I love to talk. Watch out for wordiness and rambling. Remember that I warned you later.
  • I am a strong Christian and make a daily effort to grow my relationship with God.
  • I have a massive family. Like, it's huge. We alone have enough going on to have our own reality show. We could make millions. Business Venture idea #1.
  • Speaking of business, I am currently obtaining my MBA from Manderson Graduate School of Business at the University of Alabama. It pretty much consumes my life, but in a good way. Business nerd, for sure.
  • I am happily engaged to Trent and we are getting married May 26, 2012. Therefore, I am in the process of planning a wedding. Will try my best to leave all of the soppy wedding details out. I said "try."
  • Very blessed to have an amazing set of friends who are all going and doing exciting things. I like to brag on them.
  • I love to read, though I rarely have time to anymore.
  • Music is great. Although I am bad at finding it, I am pretty much open to anything but Nickleback and heavy metal (screaming). If I could sing, you would never shut me up.
  • Amateur cook. In the process of becoming a chef through, "Lessons by Stacey."
  • About to be at a big transition point in life, so I am constantly thinking about the future and what it may hold.
  • I am a graduate assistant at the career center where I consult students about career topics including resumes, cover letters, interview skills, etc etc. Need help? Hit me up.
  • I love to eat, hate to exercise (good combo, right?). Avid Harry Potter and Twilight fan.
  • True love for non-profit organizations and I believe everyone should give back.
  • I wake up everyday knowing that God has given me a genuine purpose in life. I try to go to sleep knowing that I came one step closer to fulfilling that purpose. The more people I can positively impact along the way, the better.
Ready for the pork chop yet?

And so it begins...

So after an ever-so-long debate, I have made the ultimate decision to start a blog. Oh, what a crazy and totally unordinary person I am. However, over the past year or so I have found myself many times wishing I had an alternative outlet to share my thoughts. I have tried the whole diary thing, but I always felt weird by starting "Dear Me." Not to mention, when I write to myself I can rarely form whole sentences because my thoughts skip around so much. Hopefully, by having a potential "audience" (probably going to be a total of three people) it will force the completion of my thoughts. Also, I have always loved writing, so ideally this will allow me to pursue that hobby further.

So as for what the content of my blog will be... your guess is as good as mine. There is no theme or type, just simply whatever is on my mind and I feel like sharing. While I do hope that this blog will bring some type of enjoyment to a few others, I am mainly constructing it for myself. Therefore, I apologize if my entries aren't up to your "excitement" standard.

Forewarning Disclaimer: This blog will consist of my thoughts and life happenings, which more often than not, aren't very thrilling. Subject matter could range from how I am going to save the world to what cereal I had for breakfast. If the thought of hearing my inner monologue makes you squirm, keep on moving.

So without further adieu, here is my lovely blog. I hope to have a the first real post up within the next few days (that's assuming, of course, I have an interesting thought by then).
